Applications are invited by the University of Alicante President for an open-ended contractual position as a senior technologist to collaborate with the funded research line "Biodiversity and Marine Preservation". Reference I-PAS-76/24.
This project is conducted in collaboration with the Biodiversity Foundation of the Spanish Ministry of the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, under the Pleamar Programme, and co-funded by the European Union through the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF).
First. Number of vacancies and features of the job vacancy:
Number of job vacancies: one.Job position: senior technologist.Funded line of research: "Biodiversity and Marine Preservation".Working hours: full-time position, morning/afternoon sessions.Remuneration: €1,550 gross/monthly plus two extra payments of the same amount as the monthly remuneration, or a proportional part for periods of less than one year.Second. First project in which the successful applicant will collaborate:
Name of the project: "New technologies and advances in the knowledge of elasmobranchii in waters off eastern Spain (e-Lasmobranc)".Tasks to be carried out:Assisting with an assessment of the impact of professional and recreational fishing on elasmobranch populations, focusing on analysing the fishing pressure in the Murcia pockmarks ISRA area.Conducting research dissemination activities on the elasmobranch species involved to help change perceptions and improve their image.Carrying out actions to increase the visibility of women researchers in marine sciences.Promoting good practice exchange.Third. Application assessment criteria:
Official academic qualifications (maximum 2 points): The following qualifications will be considered for this job vacancy: undergraduate degree in Biology, Marine Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or any other official degree with equivalent content.Experience (maximum 3 points): Performance of tasks and activities, by means of an employment contract, in any field or administrative relationship, excluding teaching activities, will be assessed at the rate of 1 point per full year.Knowledge of English (maximum 1 point): The level of knowledge of the aforementioned languages will be assessed.Academic curriculum vitae: maximum 5 points.Fourth. Requirements for applicants:
Hold or be in the process of obtaining a 1st-cycle undergraduate degree or equivalent.Hold the FEDAS 1 star diver certificate or equivalent qualification.Have Spanish nationality or be in one of the situations listed in the applicable laws.Have a good command of any of the official languages of the Valencia Region.Be at least 16 years of age and not be over the maximum age for compulsory retirement.Possess the physical and mental capacities necessary for the performance of the relevant duties.Not be disqualified by final judgement or as a result of having been dismissed for disciplinary reasons.Full terms and conditions of this call can be found at the following link (IN SPANISH):
