Solaqua is a start-up that makes autonomous solar irrigation accessible and profitable for farmers thanks to our strong commitment to innovation. Our objective is to guarantee access to clean and affordable energy that allows efficient irrigation of crops, improving Europe's competitiveness while transitioning to a new energy paradigm in agriculture. We are the result of four important European R&D projects: Masolowaten, Sol-aqua EU, CO2FRA-MED: Free Agriculture for the Mediterranean region, and Solar Farm (SME Instrument). To face the challenges, Solaqua is looking to appoint a new Head of Strategy & Operations to lead and help build the company. An entrepreneurial, ambitious, and driven manager with a high level of energy and passion for creating projects from scratch, willing to be the head and the heart of the company.ResponsibilitiesFormulate and drive, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, the mission, vision, and global strategy of Solaqua.Design and implement the annual Business Plan, executing the strategy for the coming year.Drive the local and international business development, deliver on the objectives set, and actively co-create the activities as planned in the yearly business plan.Design and implement the fundraising plan and represent the company in all needed local and international fora, institutions, and events.Build, lead, and maintain a high-performing diverse team by creating an inclusive environment and offering opportunities for staff to excel in undertaking their responsibilities.RequirementsStrategy and Operations leader with more than 10 years of work experience and a minimum of 4 in a management position.Ideally experience in creating and growing business models within international and matrixed environments.Excellent communication and negotiation skills in Spanish and English.True team player who creates trust; proactive and transparent, and fosters the right working climate.High tolerance to ambiguity and adaptability whilst keeping the right balance between short, medium, and long-term objectives.Technical background and/or a proven track record in the PV market, in PV self-consumption or irrigation systems for agriculture, are a big plus.Location and TravelThe Head of Strategy and Operations will build the Solaqua team which will be integrated into the same office space as the QPV team, a start-up with 25 employees and a pleasant working environment (Madrid este-norte, between M30 y M40). The position will initially demand traveling around 30% of the time and a company car will be available.
