Provides legal advice and defense to the different companies mainly in the corporate and contractual area, in accordance with current legislation, APMT policies and the guidelines from the Legal Counsel in order to safeguard and protect APMT legal interests and minimize legal risks. Summary of the profile: Advises other functions and terminal management using a broad range of legal skills to advance the organization's business agenda. Responsible for legal affairs of APM Terminals Spain Gateways businesses, including Barcelona, Valencia & Gijón Port Terminals. Position based in Barcelona. Integral part of Maersk's Europe Legal team, reporting to the Area Legal Manager for Southwest Europe. Plenty of opportunities to learn from teammates in similar roles. Manage and assist in reviewing commercial and operational documents from legal perspective to align with APM Terminals legal standards. Proactively flag risks with a commercial and pragmatic approach. Provide support on initiatives and improvement in legal support. Handle legal disputes and corporate governance. Job description: Has recognized legal skills allowing partnering/counselling role to optimize business decisions, mostly revolving around infrastructure projects and ports and litigation. Supporting local growth projects. Will be required to collaborate with other legal specialists with in-depth knowledge in areas such as data protection law, maritime law, labour law and claims. Support on various engagements with authorities. Managing of external legal counsel and notary. Informs and advices to APMT & Maersk Group companies about novelties in legal matters that may have an impact on regular business operations of the company. Coordinates and controls, in accordance with the guidelines from the Legal Counsel, the work outsourced to the national and international network of lawyers, consultants and external specialists to guarantee they carry out their tasks in an optimal manner. Review of extension initial terms of concession contracts for all the terminals. Coordination, processing and tracking of the concessional agreements modifications and negotiations for Barcelona, Valencia and Gijón. Supports to HSSE. Lead the court processes directly or in coordination with external lawyers. Supervision of Insurance policies contained in the agreements contractors and subcontractors. Requirements Spanish qualified lawyer with a university degree. Expected minimum 8-10 years of relevant working experience (law firm, Port Authority or corporate) with proven seniority enabling the individual to work independently with remote supervision. Can manage complex projects in a changing environment. Able to efficiently support and manage different internal and external stakeholders, including terminal management, commercial and operational colleagues, government officials, external lawyers, joint venture partners and customers
