The Legal Manager will support the Legal Director in rendering legal advice, particularly in the following key responsibilities: To the Leasing Team, in the preparation and negotiation of lease agreements and any other agreement with brands and restaurants for the shopping centres and follow up on outstanding post-signature matters with brands (e.g.
payment of guarantees agreed in the contract, handover of the shop, shop-fit works, opening, etc).
To the rest of the departments, i.e.
Finance, Retail, Marketing, Turismo, Retail Development, TIC, Development, Operations, in the preparation and negotiation of all kinds of contracts and legal documentation and, generally, give support on all legal issues.
Special relevance on any issues arising from data protection when requested.
Monitor and review national/local legislation and regulations and advise on its effect (if any) on the operations of the shopping centres' practices and procedures.
Advise on any issues which may give rise to litigation such as insolvency situations or potential breaches of contracts.
To the Legal Department, assist with updates of standard documentation and preparation of new editions of contracts, handbooks and other standard templates as well as periodically update internal reports (for example, quarterly litigation report).
Participate in weekly meetings, particularly, Leasing and Retail Development, as well as the Weekly Townhall with all departments and update about issues of the Legal Department which may affect them, as well as the monthly meeting with the Legal Department at group level, with all the members in Europe.
Administrative tasks : Manage the Leasing database in Yardi (a cloud-based real estate management system) and upload for VIA internal approval all legal documents to be signed by brands.
Review legal invoices and upload relevant invoicing documents in Yardi for approval of the Legal Director.
