ABOUT THE ROLE The legal team at Fever is a true business partner to all Fever teams, supporting sustainable growth across functions and geographies (including more than 100 cities across the globe!).
We are looking for a Legal Director - Corporate and M&A to take ownership over a broad range of transactional activity for Fever worldwide and participate in parent company corporate management and financing within a fast paced high growth scaleup.
This role will report directly to the company's general counsel and require strategic leadership, execution focus, and drive.
You will manage a team of corporate and M&A trained lawyers to work closely with the business to negotiate and execute a range of corporate transactions worldwide, including acquisitions, investments, and corporate and contractual joint ventures.
As an internal leader, you will additionally foster effective internal, cross-functional relationships to strategically identify and address legal needs, mitigate risks, and facilitate initiatives and compliance.
Additionally, you will work closely with the company's general counsel in functions related to parent company corporate management, including the execution of equity and debt financing to continue supporting high company growth.
You will be expected to: Support the Business and Corporate Development leadership in the design and execution of strategies for corporate transactions and their financing.
Get hands on on the drafting and negotiation of legal documents for a range of corporate transactions — including acquisitions, investments, funding rounds, debt financings, reorganisations and joint ventures, as well as commercial contracts.
Provide proactive and strategic support to business teams and upper management in their negotiations of deals and contracts you are involved in.
Manage and communicate with key stakeholders in the business, including C-suite and investors.
Advise on the engagement of, and coordinating and prioritising, work of external legal advisors where appropriate.
Prepare and deliver training to other members of the legal team as well as members of the business team on corporate and transactional legal matters and processes.
Manage a team of corporate and M&A lawyers of differing seniorities.
Participate in the upskilling, support and growth of your and other teams within the company.
ABOUT YOU In order to be successful in this role, you must: Have a successful track record of demonstrably creating impact, enacting change, and successfully leading a professional legal team.
Have a corporate and commercial background with 5+ in-house experience, and prior highly ranked law firm experience (with experience in IPO readiness work and/or public company reporting a plus).
Hold a JD with strong academic credentials and be a barred US lawyer, preferably NY barred (with international/cross-border work experience and/or fluency in other languages a plus).
We are looking for someone who: Has a can-do attitude, a keen eye for risk management, strategy and business, and is committed to company goals.
Has excellent project management and execution skills and an ability to drive projects forwards.
Can operate at pace and digest new information quickly, advise nimbly, and balance short and long-term goals at all times.
Is an effective communicator who brings emotional intelligence to work.
Is comfortable operating in a live, dynamic environment and taking a commercial view on risks.
Has excellent stakeholder management skills and knows when to escalate and who to keep informed about matters.
