Your Role: As Legal Counsel, you will join our Healthcare's Development & Franchises (D&F) Legal Team, reporting to the Head of Legal Healthcare for Therapeutic Area Oncology. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert and strategic legal partner to the Healthcare's Global Development Operations organization. You will also collaborate closely with other members of the D&F Legal Team on matters relating to global development operations and the conduct of company-sponsored clinical trials. Your responsibilities will include contracting and supporting the company's relationship with its CRO partner, and potentially drafting and negotiating other clinical trial vendor agreements.
Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in supporting Development, Medical Affairs, and Commercial activities for the company's marketed Oncology products and its robust pipeline of clinical-stage Oncology assets. You will provide legal guidance to the cross-functional Global Program Team for your assigned asset(s), helping them manage legal risk within their development programs, including for internal and external interactions, activities and communications.
Depending on your background, you will also provide strategic and operational support for commercial assets and activities, including participating in the Medical-Legal-Regulatory review.
In all of these areas, you will be expected to interact with and provide pragmatic, solutions-oriented, risk-based legal advice to colleagues across all levels of the organization. This role will primarily involve working with business partners in Europe and North America, with flexibility to engage with colleagues in other time zones as needed. Additionally, you will participate in Legal Department projects and initiatives and carry out other related duties as assigned, including supporting other D&F and Healthcare activities as necessary.
This is a hybrid role (3 days/week on-site) and may be based in Madrid, Spain; Rome, Italy; or Warsaw, Poland.
Who You Are: An Experienced Lawyer with a legal degree, admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction, and a minimum of 8 years experience in the legal department of an international pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or clinical-stage biotech company or a Clinical Research Organization.Comfortable working and interacting with all levels of management, including senior management.Able to assess legal risk and provide pragmatic, solutions-oriented, risk-based legal advice.Experienced in an international environment with the ability to work in different cultures and manage global matters.Proficient in English.An open, energetic self-starter who can act under pressure, handle multiple priorities, and maintain excellent organisational, collaboration, and communication skills.Role: Expert 3
