Our three core values inspire the way we work and how we treat our people customers – 1) Be bold 2) Strive for better 3) Do the right thing.Job Title:Legal Counsel - European LinesDivision: Specialty RisksReports To: As per Beazley's organisation chartKey Relationships: Business Management, Beazley Digital, Specialty Risks Underwriters, Compliance, Innovation and Product Development and all other relevant stakeholdersJob Summary: Provide underwriting and wordings support to assigned Beazley Digital and Specialty Risks teams or focus groups and general support across Beazley Digital, Specialty Risks and other Beazley trading teams as necessary.Key Responsibilities:Draft policy wordings and endorsements to support business/underwriting objectives.Support the European Underwriters across Multi-Lines including Management Liability, Professional Liability and Cyber.Line manage direct reports.Assist with regulatory projects where there is wordings impact.Address coverage issues raised in the underwriting and negotiation process.Provide high quality and timely responses to queries.Support and advise on underwriting, product development, and coverage issues.Review confidentiality agreements, warranty statements and other agreements as needed for US/UK/RoW Beazley Digital and Specialty Risks Underwriters.Assist in addressing bespoke coverage requests; requires interaction with Brokers, Insureds, and other key external stakeholders.Support the trading team in knowledge management and sharing processes.Coordinate projects and work collaboratively with key stakeholders internally.Monitor competitive landscapes for improvement in wordings and underwriting controls.Participate in business planning, broker/client meetings, and marketing events.Provide assistance with additional projects and/or legal services as needed.Monitor claims developments and impact of wording on claims.General Expectations:Adhere to Beazley's core values - Being Bold, Striving for Better, and Doing the Right Thing.

Display business ethics that uphold customer interests.Personal Specification:Education Qualifications: Law Degree preferredSkills Abilities: Organised and detail-oriented, good working knowledge of MS office, effective communication skills, self-motivated, proven time management skills, multilingual with fluency in English and French and/or German preferred.Knowledge Experience: Relevant professional level experience required, insurance-related experience preferred, strong client service skills required.Aptitude Disposition: Task-focused, self-motivated, flexible, consistently professional approach.Competencies: Achievement orientation, analytical thinking, information seeking, customer focus, team working, initiative, problem solving, detail oriented.
