Join us on a mission that matters. Role purposeWe are seeking an experienced attorney to join our Madrid office as Counsel with a focus on commercial and compliance matters. In this role, you will advise multiple teams within the Company, including sales, operations, and leadership, on a wide variety of commercial and compliance matters relating to the Company's operations in Europe. The ideal candidate will be able to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice and contract support on commercial issues relating to the Company's products and services, and exercise independent legal judgment with respect to compliance and regulatory matters relevant to the Company's European operations.
Duties and responsibilitiesCommercial Counsel. Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret commercial contracts (e.g., SaaS/subscription agreements, data services agreements, master service agreements, NDAs) with a wide variety of counterparties (renewable energy developers, corporate and industrial renewable energy purchasers, independent renewable energy advisors, software vendors, etc.).Corporate and Regulatory Compliance. Provide legal advice to ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable legal requirements; develop and maintain related internal policies and procedures.Manage and oversee outside counsel in multiple jurisdictions and areas of subject matter expertise.Foster an internal corporate culture of ethical conduct, sound legal and business practices, and prudent strategic behavior consistent with the Company's business objectives.
QualificationsA minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience as in-house counsel at a multinational company or with a leading law firm, with significant experience on matters involving renewable energy and renewable energy projects. Experience with SaaS and venture-backed startups is a strong plus. Ability to provide practical, business-oriented advice and guidance independently in a fast-moving environment at all levels of the Company.A willingness and desire to learn LevelTen's business at a granular level for the purpose of assessing risk and providing strategic advice.Strong teaming and collaboration skills.Fluency in English (the working language of the Company and Madrid office) is required. Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred as well.Admission to practice law in Spain is required.
