Job Title: Lead Principal Auditor - Market Conduct Remediation Location: Madrid Paseo Castellana Corporate Title: Vice President The Group Audit (GA) function is a professional, business-focused, proactive risk-based global audit team that operates with transparency, integrity, and independence, and assists the Bank's business and infrastructure areas to identify key control weaknesses.
GA is seeking a Lead Principal Auditor to join its Market Conduct Remediation audit team to drive audit delivery/validation and regulatory remediation.
You will report directly to the Principal Audit Manager (PAM) - Market Conduct Remediation.
Your key responsibilities: Plan and lead audits/regulatory remediation activities including the reporting of results to senior stakeholders.
Draft high-quality audit reports/validation memos for review by management, facilitate issue tracking and validate closure of findings; execute day-to-day operational audit work and contribute to the delivery of audits.
Undertake all aspects of audit/validation fieldwork (including regulatory remediation) in line with the agreed approach including identification of key risks, documentation of process flows and key controls, testing controls are designed and operating effectively, and correctly documenting audit/validation work.
Partner with other audit teams globally to ensure comprehensive audit delivery, validation, and regulatory remediation.
Proactively develop and maintain professional working relationships; communicate openly with management and internal stakeholders, keeping them informed of potential issues and escalate problems/delays promptly.
Your skills and experience: Sound knowledge and experience of Internal Audit, ideally gained from within Financial services, particularly Investment Banking products.
A strong understanding of the operational requirements and regulatory environment of a Global Bank; experience in the coverage of Market Conduct Remediation-related risks and controls would be beneficial.
Very good knowledge of auditing standards and concepts (i.e., design assessment, audit testing/sampling, and operating effectiveness testing).
Excellent team working capabilities and an ability to build strong business and team relationships, proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels; both written and verbal.
Strong project management and planning skills; financial and numerical competence and an analytical mindset.
Educated to Bachelor's degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience.
