Could you be the full-time Lead Mechanical Engineering (Services) in Madrid we're looking for?
Your future role You'll secure the regulatory framework and Alstom standards compliance, as well as QCD targets achievement during the execution of maintenance, modernization, repair and services engineering projects involving mechanical systems.
Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (technical and project engineering), manage the implementation of standard processes and tools to assess the impact and efficiently undertake engineering modifications in the mechanical and structural domains, securing best industrial and railway practices as well as promoting continuous improvement and much more.
You'll specifically take care of leading the specification, design, calculation, industrialization validation and certification & authorization of mechanical and structural components, assemblies and overall mechanical modifications in rail vehicles, infrastructure, facilities or tooling, including general studies (e.g.
rolling stock performance calculation, gauge, load-weight, etc.
), in the scope of maintenance, modernization, repair or services engineering contracts, tenders & opportunities, in close coordination with technical and project engineering teams and aligned with other Services functions and Services allocated objectives, in a way that the overall engineering performance, QCD and standardization is continuously enhanced.
We'll look you to: Plan and manage in-house / outsourced mechanical design engineering activities meeting the allocated objectives, encouraging self-initiative, networking, teamworking and promoting continuous improvement following Alstom design engineering rules.
Assess mechanical components repairability and industrialization in rail vehicles and infrastructure.
Manage welding requirements specification and verification criteria in close collaboration with certified welding experts.
Coordinate the development of technical solutions and improvements permitting to minimize project risks.
Collaborate in the effective investigation and resolution of service failures in mechanical and structural components in rail vehicles, infrastructure or facilities, aiming to improve the overall system reliability and availability.
Prompt support to tenders, including technical scope specification and engineering cost assessment following Alstom processes.
Encourage trusting relationships with internal and external customers, providing agile solutions, required technical clarifications and supporting troubleshooting on those mechanical systems designed or maintained by Services.

Third language valued.
At least 6-year experience in mechanical design engineering within the industrial domain.
At least 3-year experience in mechanical design engineering within the rail sector.
Proven experience managing in-house / outsourced engineering activities: WPs allocation and follow-up, 3D and detailed design reviews and KPI reporting.
Proven experience expertizing mechanical and structural assemblies, assessing industrial repair means and capabilities and solving technical issues.
Proven skills managing relevant industrial and railway standards.
Valuable capabilities leading and managing engineering teams: resources coordination, competencies development, delegation and survey, team motivation towards company targets: objectives compliance, agile delivery, performance improvement, entrepreneurship and innovation.
Valuable experience with industrial or rail tooling design and certification.
Valuable experience driving and performing on-the field equipment sketching.
Valuable skills in welding processes within the industrial domain or rail sector.
Valuable skills in electromechanical design engineering.
Valuable skills in obsolescence management: alternative components design and validation.
