POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Manufacturing Quality Engineer is responsible for recommending and implementing operating practices related to customer satisfaction and retention. The LMQ is responsible to interact with Quality Manager for customer relationships and transactional opportunities related to the resolution of concerns, to resolve matters related to Quality/Reliability of product, internal processes and procedures that impact customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for working with cross-functional groups to coordinate strategies for meeting customer's requirements in all quality areas that also serve AE's business needs. Creates and reviews strategies with functional owners and drives program completion.Leading and managing: Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, corrective and preventive action due to customer (internal-external) complaints.Define, design, develop and implement SPC tools for assembly tools, manufacturing and test fixtures.Establish, implement and maintain the quality management system.Interact with Engineering and Operations to ensure an appropriate transfer of new products, PPAP.Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing activities of receiving/outgoing quality functions.Participates in Design Reviews to ensure compliance with reliability standards and customer requirements.Is responsible for hosting and coordinating customer audits, surveys, and other such activities.Review Engineering Change Requests for customer approval requirements and submission.Perform weekly, monthly trend analysis and coordinate corrective actions with involved areas.Defines SPC to manufacturing processes and monitor weekly and monthly performance, implement countermeasures.Develop, implement and monitor PPAP System.Interact constantly with Customer and Suppliers to develop 8D reports and ground corrective actions in process.Interact constantly with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Materials, Support Areas to ensure robust processes using PPAP, SPC and LEAN tools.WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a standard office environment and production floor, uses general office equipment.Some travel will be required (domestic and international).SKILLS: Ability to manage cross-functional project teams to reach problem resolution for customers and AE.Ability to solve complex technical and interpersonal problems independently.Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.Measurable and extensive experience with influencing and negotiating in complex situations.Able to define process criteria to meet product and process requirements.LEAN Manufacturing tools.Excellent computer skills (Statistical Software, Office –Excel-, etc.).Strong Negotiation and Communication skills.Strong Leader and fearless change agent.Strong Teamwork skills.EXPERIENCE: 3+ years in quality system maintenance.Experience in Electronics Industry Preferable.Experience in Automotive Industry and/or Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Preferable.Six Sigma Certification preferable.3+ years' experience in manufacturing is preferred.EDUCATION: Bachelor degree (Manufacturing, Electronic Engineering).
