ResponsibilitiesLead the Lighting team, maintaining consistency across the department by providing direction and feedback, ensuring all team members understand their roles and expectations.Supervise implementation of lighting across various projects, environments, levels, and scenes to enhance visual appeal, atmosphere, mood, and gameplay.Collaborate with on and off-site Level Designers, Environment Artists, Visual Effects Artists, and team leads to provide creative lighting solutions across various games.Work closely with Creative and Art Directors to establish visual standards and lighting style guides.Collaborate with global Engineering, Tech Art, and development teams to debug issues, solve problems, and guide future technology standards, ensuring lighting effects are visually appealing while maintaining acceptable frame rates and performance metrics.Work with department leads to build asset viewer maps and establish content creation standards that follow PBR guidelines.Provide mentorship and coaching for Lighting team members, including 1:1s, career development, performance evaluations, and goal-setting.RequirementsIn-depth knowledge of real-time "AAA" lighting experience.A strong portfolio demonstrating experience lighting environments and characters for AAA games.Demonstrated proficiency with PBR is a must.Strong leadership, mentoring, and teaching skills.Proven technical background in dynamic runtime and pre-baked lighting techniques.Experience and understanding of current "industry standard" real-time PBR techniques.Comfortable taking on responsibility for the development of complex lighting solutions and guiding the team to achieve quality standards.Demonstrated experience working with modern FPS engines (UE4, UE5, etc.) and modern art pipelines.Experience working with a wide array of art styles.Keen production sensibilities, with the ability to collaborate on timelines and communicate with Production and team members on task duration and prioritization.Ability to maintain high-quality and consistent progress.A passion for games and understanding the impact of lighting in game environments.As an equal opportunity employer, we are committed to ensuring that qualified individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform their essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment.
