Job Title: Lead Engineer Sustainability & Energy
DEPARTMENT
The Technical department is responsible for the Process Technology, Integrity, Reliability, Sustainability and Quality Assurance of the entire site Sabic Polyolefine GmbH in Gelsenkirchen. It consists of six sub-teams with approx. 60 employees.
JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES
This exciting role as Lead Engineer Sustainability & Energy gives you the opportunity to BE THE IMPACT by continuously improving our Sustainability & Energy position, assuring Sustainability & Energy performance, leading long term, strategic asset improvements and developing studies. Furthermore you'll take an important role in our management system, esp. with focus on Sustainability & Energy procedures and in frame of our CO2 trade. To do so, you ENGAGE with several stakeholders within and beyond the Gelsenkirchen organization such as EHSS, Operations, Sabic's Asset Technology Center (ATC), Global Sustainability Network, Technology & Innovation and many others.
In your function, you will DELIVER a continuous improvement of the Sustainability & Energy performance and ensure compliance to all related management processes as well as legal requirements. Your in-depth technical, engineering and legislation knowledge in the concerned fields of expertise combined with your convincing and open personality enables you to DELIVER a valuable contribution in our reliable business in the future. The ideal candidate has already broad experience in Sustainability & Energy management.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of activities, taking account of compliance with EHSS & Regulatory demands, including but not limited to:
Support operating units to meet sustainability and energy targetsImprove site Energy and Sustainability performance by driving corporate Work Processes (OMS 423 and 424)Definition of KPI improvement projects for Energy, GHG, Water and Material Effectiveness and supports the site to accomplish significant cost savings and environmental improvementsProactively identify and develop sustainability and energy improvement opportunities to meet longer term corporate targets. Support development of business case for Energy and Sustainability projectsExecute CO2 tradeChair the Sustainability & Energy Gremium and Energy Value TeamTrack actions accordinglyDevelop and follow up actions from CN Roadmap in alignment with corporate systems and requirementsReport sustainability and energy status for operating units as defined in corporate Work Processes (OMS 423 and 424)Proactively improve sustainability and energy awareness and knowledge across site, providing training to all departments as requiredStrong understanding of site energy legislation implications and all activities are planned to work within specific legal/legislative constraints for the siteAct as site representative in Energy and Sustainability regional and global networks, sharing best practices and exploring opportunities for Energy and Sustainability improvementsLead/participate technical audits/reviews REQUIREMENTS
We are very curious to hear from candidates who have a Master`s degree or equivalent in Supply Engineering or comparable, preferably along with at least 5 to 8 years of experience in the area of Sustainability & Energy.

Location: Gelsenkirchen, Germany
Travel: Up to 10% (regionally) and globally (if required)
