As our Lead Engineer, you will build and lead the Delivery Engineering team in order to automate and enhance existing processes and to enable teams to reduce their time to delivery, whilst ensuring the stability, resilience, and scale of our services. You will work alongside all areas of technology to ensure that technical solutions are aligned across teams, deliver value to the customers, as well as ensuring consistent monitoring, logging, and alerting. In addition, the Lead Engineer is responsible for building capability and maturing operational ways of working across multiple cross-functional teams, with a focus on technical excellence and a high-performance culture. What you'll be getting up to: Lead the team's engineers and ensure their professional growth, well-being, and job efficiency. Lead and guide the Delivery Engineering team, motivating and driving with technical expertise, acting as a subject matter expert and championing best practices. Provide technical oversight for important projects to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical outputs involving multiple teams and/or technologies. Ensure all team members participate in every step of the application software development lifecycle, including product design, development, testing, and transition into operation. Provide coaching and mentoring to the team to improve their skillset, increase knowledge, and set the benchmark of quality and precision engineering. Oversee the implementation of service transition and change and release process changes, ensuring that processes are reviewed and improved with an emphasis on optimization. Evaluate risks and defects, analyzing specifications, and customizing applications for specific customer needs. Work with technology teams to produce and maintain standards, guidelines, and pattern catalogues. Measure and drive delivery and quality improvements through the capture and analysis of metrics
