We are looking for a skilled DBA with experience with Linux and DevOps tools and methodologies.
You will join our Life Sciences Database Administration team in Barcelona.
This is an amazing opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team who works on a wide range of technologies.
The team consists of 7 people across 3 different timezones, is growing in 2 people in a near future and is reporting to the Database director.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments 7+ years of experience managing Oracle or Postgres databases, as well as Linux operating systems.
Other DB engines like SQL Server or MySQL are a plus.
Cassandra is a plus.
Good English communication skills.
You have good analytic skills in order to do DB performance tuning.
You have basic skills on infrastructure: you are familiar with basic networking concepts and storage management at OS level (Linux).
It would be great if you also had .
. Experience working in AWS or any other cloud would be great.
Experience with DevOps and automation tools and basic knowledge about DevOps processes.
What will you be doing in this role? Assisting on new deployments and onboarding legacy databases to our team.
Supporting developers to ensure their applications query the DBs in the most efficient, possible way.
Assisting with your expertise to new projects in order to define the best technologies and approaches to use from the DBA perspective.
Assisting to resolve day to day incidents with our assets.
Hours of Work Full-time permanent position, working on a hybrid model (2 days a week at the office).
After some months, you'd join the on-call service rotation (which is, being on call 1 week every 3-4).
