Piper Maddox is thrilled to partner with an innovative electric aircraft company revolutionising aviation. Their cutting-edge technology retrofits small conventional aircraft with a custom fully electric powertrain, eliminating emissions and paving the way for a cleaner future. Over the past four years, they have been working hard to develop their technology, successfully completing ground tests on a small-scale prototype. Now, the company is gearing up for the next exciting phase: building a full-scale prototype, conducting ground tests, and embarking on flight tests within the next year. They are seeking a dynamic leader to spearhead the development of their battery system. This role involves defining and developing system architecture while navigating various certification challenges. Join them in shaping the future of electric aviation! What you will be doing: Create and define requirements for the modular battery system. Establish safety standards and system certification process and coordinate the relevant team for its delivery. Develop mechanical or electrical concepts to improve the aircraft's battery system. Evaluate suppliers and materials from different vendors. Execute validation and verification plans for regulatory compliance (DO-178, DO-254, CASA, EASA). Support system design and build of rig for testing integrating SIL and HIL. What we are looking for: 5+ years of experience developing battery systems for Electric Vehicles (Aerospace experience desirable). Deep technical understanding of Battery Packs from either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering perspective. Familiar with stringent certification processes and able to organise processes to achieve this. Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders. Degree in relevant field. The company can offer competitive salaries, share options, relocation support, and highly flexible working arrangements for the right person. If you think that this might be the right opportunity for you, I'd love to give you some more details. Hit Apply below!
