- Technical Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field; or Certifications in a relevant field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA)
- 2+ years of experience with network cabling, optic types, and test equipment (VFL, power meter, and OTDR etc.)
- Must be fluent or at least advanced level in English
AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
We are looking to hire a Network Technician to join our growing team within Networking. Your responsibilities would involve delivering the hardware, configuration, and fiber connectivity of interdependent scaling projects across several data center locations. You will work closely with both internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution in association with Technical Program Managers.
Key job responsibilities: Working closely with our Network Engineering & Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of established designs and products.Managing work priorities through ticketing system and workflows & collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.Troubleshooting networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low-level application interaction.Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment.Completing customer requests via Remedy trouble ticketing system and project management workflows.Participating in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
You will be required to travel, up to 20% travel outside traditional work area may be required possibly including international travel.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, Jun OS, etc).Experience with ethernet and IP networking.Experience in large scale data center network implementations and support.Experience working in virtualized enterprise networking environments.Familiarity with common networking terms and fabric-based network design.Experience with enterprise level infrastructure technologies (Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, Firewalls etc.).
