Together we help our customers and their patients to fulfill the dream of having a baby.We are offering one outstanding candidate the opportunity to be a laboratory Technician, based at Igenomix Headquarters in Valencia (Spain).The new employee will be responsible for conducting advanced research and development in the fields of genomics and biologics to enhance genetic testing and reproductive health solutions. The specialist leverages extensive experience in genomics and biologics to design, develop, and optimize assays and protocols for carrier screening and infertility genetic testing.Experience:Laboratory science degree, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.Relevant molecular skill set consisting of the molecular fundamentals, RNA and DNA extraction from blood and/or saliva, nucleic acids quantification, PCR, real-time PCR, MLPA, and gel electrophoresis.Experience with NGS sequencing and fragment analysers preferred.Demonstrate clear ability to explain experience with specific instrument platforms, including test principle(s), what controls were in place, and how results were interpreted and reported out.Key knowledge, skills and abilities:Highly organized and strong work ethic.Understanding of the equipment used daily; including, but not limited to Qiagen devices (QIASymphony, automatic robot for the extraction of nucleic acids), centrifuges, thermal cyclers, real-time PCR analysers (QuantStudio), fragment analysers, Sanger sequencing, and Illumina devices.Understanding of CLIA requirements and experience with CAP inspections for compliance with Checklist requirements.Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Teamwork - Commitment to the successful achievement of team and organizational goals through a desire to participate with and help other members of the team.Dependable; follow instructions, respond to management direction, complete tasks on time or notify appropriate person with an alternate plan.Visual acuity and analytical skills to distinguish fine detail.Manual dexterity to use common laboratory equipment and perform sterile techniques as required.Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion.Willingness to work different shifts is required.Rotation might be required for Weekends/HolidaysOther duties as assigned or needed.Vitrolife Group is a global provider of medical devices and genetic services.
