.VHIR offers a vacant position for a laboratory technician with experience in animal handling and experimentation (product administration, welfare monitoring, genotyping, etc.).
The candidates will be hired within a national project (CPP2022-009780) to participate providing all in vivo validation (safety, biodistribution and efficacy) of the proposed therapy.
In addition, the candidate will participate in the general routine techniques and procedures in the lab.
Our group runs the Unit 20 on in vivo experimental research, also known as Functional Validation & Preclinical Research (FVPR).
FVPR/U20 is a service platform offering customized assays for the production and functional validation of diagnostic or therapeutic compounds.
FVPR/U20 is also part of the ICTS-Nanbiosis, a reference infrastructure in the development of biomaterials and nanomedicines.
FVPR/U20 operates under the ISO9001:2015 quality management system.
Education and qualifications: Required: Title of higher technician (FPII/CFGS) in the field of bioscience (i.E.
Laboratory Diagnostics, Pathological Anatomy, etc.)
Accreditation to handle experimental animals Experience and knowledge: Required: At least 2 years of experience in laboratory work Laboratory management skills (analytical, organisational and time management) Proven experience in animal (mice) handling, product administration, welfare monitoring and necropsies Good computer skills, especially in MS Office Desired: Experience in Quality Management Systems, specifically with ISO9001 standards Fluency in Catalan, Spanish and English We are looking for a person who has a proven hands-on attitude, flexible and adaptable.
Additionally, the following personal skills are desirable: Teamwork Proactivity (ability to work independently when necessary) Well-organized and responsible person at work Main responsibilities and duties: Support to in vitro and in vivo experimentation, from basic cell culturing, to molecular biology, animal handling and execution of animal experimentation procedures (substance administration, sample extraction, surgical procedures and animal monitoring).
Basic processing of cell cultures and mouse tissue samples.
Data registration.
Execution of basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, ELISA, WB, etc.).
Administrative and laboratory management tasks.
