.CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. The Center is located at the UAB Campus and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a PhD Student to be part of the group Protein regulation in development and stress.The candidate will be participating in:Cloning of fluorescent protein fusions with SUMOylation machineryE.Coli transformation and protein purificationProtein analysis techniques for the generated proteins, such as SDS-page, western blot, native gelsFluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET)Plant production (A. thaliana) and protein purification from tissuesPlant RNA extraction, RNA-seq preparation, and data analysiscDNA synthesis and quantitative PCR analysisThe candidate is expected to conduct research under the supervision of Dr. L.
