The Amazon Smart Vehicles team is looking for a Device Lab Program Manager to help and own the technical lab's current capabilities and the strategic planning for its growth. The successful candidate will be obsessed with quality improvement and help to generate and collect data to increase operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include:
Maintaining all aspects of the ASV device labs, including hardware and software, updating all lab infrastructure, equipment, and software configurations.Ensuring availability of test equipment and parts.Understanding customer use cases and demonstrating strong device/system troubleshooting skills down to component and software levels.Hand soldering as required.Procuring, negotiating, organizing, and maintaining stock of test equipment, third-party devices, and prototype devices for troubleshooting and debugging.Identifying pros/cons of test equipment and evaluating new ones for potential procurement.Onboarding new vendors and managing overall vendor relationships for evaluation and demos.Managing device returns and support for calibration.Dealing with international vendors for device imports and customs, working closely with the device security team for tracking devices and inventory, and placing and tracking purchase orders.Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their requirements and implementing solutions to enable automation and reduce manual efforts for testing.Actively participating in team meetings, project planning, prioritization discussions, and processing feedback for proposed solutions.Communicating clearly and effectively with stakeholders, ensuring thorough documentation.Maintaining documentation, data reporting, and operational efficiency.Brainstorming ideas to develop new tools for efficient delivery.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 1+ years of experience in device procurement and inventory management
- 1+ years of experience in lab maintenance
- Experience dealing with ambiguity
- Hands-on experience working cross-functionally and externally with multiple vendors
- 1+ years of experience handling processes, safety, and security measures efficiently
- Troubleshooting skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Hands-on experience with automotive rewiring to build a test platform
- Experience working on bucks and building favorable test environments
- Documentation, data reporting, and maintenance for operational efficiency.
