- **Tasks and Responsibilities**
**Key responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Manage the day-to day laboratory operations, which includes, but are not limited to, inventory control and procurement (e.g., generate Purchase Orders, place orders with vendors/supplies and manage shipments and deliveries).
- Conduct lab instrument checks to ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained and provide end user training on basic equipment and lab processes.
- Develop and maintain laboratory operations protocols in the context of Good Research Practices (GRPs) to ensure compliance and safety in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure standard supplies are always stocked and specialty materials are ordered in a timely manner.
- Log and analyse critical lab environment parameters (e.g. temperature and humidity of incubators, fridge/freezers temperature and liquid nitrogen level for cell storage)
- Coordinate on site facility interventions.
**Education, experience and skills**
- Higher National Diploma in technical education (FP2) on sciences or Bachelors' degree in a scientific field preferred
- 5+ years of work-related experience working in a laboratory environment.
- 1+ years of laboratory coordination experience
- Ability to communicate in English is a must
- Prior experience with vendor management
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Working knowledge of standard lab equipment and cell culture
- Ability to take accountability and to prioritize work
- Adaptivity to shifting priorities and changing work assignments
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across departments
