JPMSE is the primary entity used to provide private banking services to ultra-high net worth (UHNW) and high net worth (HNW) individuals in the EMEA region.Position DescriptionThe Securities Based Lending Team (SBL) is Global Wealth Management's solution for underwriting loans that are fully secured by liquid securities.
The team's underwriting responsibilities include analyzing, negotiating, and documenting lines of credit for clients in each of the region's markets.
We also review other transactions that have an element of credit risk such as derivatives.The SBL Team manages ~70% of the credit facilities across the International credit book and aims to turn around new business requests within 48 hours.
The EEA SBL team will be directly responsible for portfolio management and coverage of Eurozone markets (primarily Italy, France, Spain, Germany, and Nordics) with a footprint in Madrid, Milan, and Paris whilst continuing International SBL alignment across EMEA and Asia.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the EEA SBL Team across locations.Drive business with internal stakeholders (not limited to Bankers, Investors, Lending Advisors, Credit Executives, Legal) and, on occasion, private clients to deliver the best fully secured credit product solution with a sound credit structure.Coordinate with senior SBL leads and global partners to drive optimal efficiency and consistent approach to risk the business.Maintain a consistently high level of awareness around any potential credit issues.
Ensure the team proactively resolves exceptions, including under margin situations, past due principal/interest, transactional issues, and documentation exceptions.Articulate the risk/reward proposition when negotiating loans, disciplined loan pricing and structure; understand nuances and local regulations within the various EEA markets.Review and approve credit proposals for adherence to policy, accurate borrower analysis, and a complete market credit risk assessment.
Maintain the highest standards of quality and accuracy.Ensure the team underwrites new credit requests in a timely fashion and liaises with the off-shore team as needed for proactive completion of internal Annual Reviews.Skills RequiredBachelor's Degree and relevant business experience in a similar role.English and at least one of French, Italian, Spanish fluency.Credit risk or lending experience essential including underwriting, lending value analysis, derivatives, KYC, and legal documentation.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; high emotional intelligence.Good organizational skills and ability to drive change.Ability to work well in an integrated team environment; dedicated team player.Track record in working with teams from various markets/countries.Understanding of Tools of the future e.g.
