BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.Context And Mission: The funding for these actions/fellowships and contracts comes from the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility - Next Generation, within the framework of the General Invitation by the public business entity Red.Es to participate in the talent attraction and retention programs.Key DutiesLead participation in EU project related to seismic hazardKey role in seismic risk assessmentRequirementsEducation: B.Sc in Civil Engineering; Ph.D preferably in Civil EngineeringEssential Knowledge and Professional Experience: 2 years of experience in post-doctoral positions related to seismology or seismic engineering; some professional experience in seismic risk assessment and/or structural engineeringAdditional Knowledge and Professional Experience: knowledge in 3D modelling and inversion of seismic waves; knowledge in the use of HPC infrastructures; at least two years experience at institutions other than the Ph.D.'s hosting center, with international exposureCompetences: Experienced in writing scientific articles (5+ peer-reviewed contributions); experienced in participating at international conferences related to seismology or seismic engineering; English and Spanish at very high level; programming (C, Matlab and/or Python)ConditionsThe position will be located at BSC within the CASE Department. We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance. Duration: 4 years. Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement. Salary: 55.000,00 €.
