Serve as an operational, exercise, and engagement planner to advance critical partnerships and planning initiatives. Foster a better understanding and employment of Navy Expeditionary Forces and host nation partners.
Specific Tasks:Serve as N3 lead planner for exercises and engagements as required.Serve as advisor/consultant to the Operations Officer (N3) on planning issues.Attend planning conferences as required.Coordinate with NECC and C6F on all GFM matters.Draft, submit, and brief the quarterly CONEMP.Draft and submit annual GFM input, RFFs and RFSs to C6F and NECC.Represent the N3 in the production of the assigned family of EUCOM and AFRICOM led planning efforts.Serve on OPTs as directed.Draft, review, edit and submit after action reports (AAR) as required.Maintain clear understanding of Commander's and HHQ operational and strategic guidance.Represent the N3 in the build of the command's OFRP.Draft and submit command reports such as the command history report.Develop spreadsheets, charts and graphs.Attend exercise and engagement conferences.Experience:Active DoD Secret security clearance (preferred).Minimum of eight years of experience directly supporting the US military as either an active duty or reserve service member, US civil service employee, or contractor employee (required).Proficient use of Microsoft suite of tools to include Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint (required).A minimum of ten years of US Military service experience in plans department or in an operations department (desired).Knowledge and experience with Joint and Navy planning process, as detailed in Joint Publication 5-0 and Naval Warfare Planning 5-01 (desired).Familiarity with/experience in EUCOM/AFRICOM AORs (desired).Previous tours in the EUCOM/AFRICOM AORs is preferred.Education:Bachelor's (required).Licenses/Certifications:Paid time off, Health and Dental insurance, Retirement benefits, Flexible schedules.
