Lubrizol's industry-leading technologies in additives, ingredients, and compounds enhance the quality, performance, and value of customers' products while reducing their environmental impact.RoleCost Accountant / Plant ControllerLocationSpain - Barcelona (Lubrizol at Gava)Reporting toOperations Finance Manager (Dotted line to Plant Manager)The position will provide close Cost Accounting support to Lubrizol operations and plant management, located in Gava, Barcelona (Spain), reporting to European Operations Finance Manager (Dotted line to local Plant/Operations Manager).PurposeTo perform and manage, under supervision, specific cost accounting and controlling related accountabilities for the location or site, in accordance with our Accounting policies and practices and standard chart of accounts.To act as a finance partner to site management by providing forecasting and actionable financial insights to support the objectives of the business.To maintain a system of internal controls to provide reasonable assurance that transactions are executed in conformity with Lubrizol policies and practices.Responsibilities / AccountabilitiesTo implement, administer and maintain the cost pricing system, procedures, and practices.To be accountable for inventory accounting, analysis, and validation of inventory variances (e.G. physical counts &/or 3rd party locations inventory reconciliations).To assist with the follow-up and analysis of the Capital Expenditure projects, report findings to management and initiate corrective action. To provide also financial analysis to management that will support the request for new Capital Expenditure.To ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of Plant Operating Results (Month-end closing process).To support with the preparation of the annual plant budget, periodic forecast, and to perform spending variance analysis.To ensure strict compliance with all Corporate Finance policies and provide training when necessary.To be the control owner for specific SOX-controls.Requirements - Education, Experience and SkillsUniversity or Bachelor degree in Accountancy, Business Administration or equivalent through experience of 3 to 4 years, preferably in a multinational and production cost accounting environment.Knowledge of basic Financial Accounting.Strong written and spoken command of English, knowledge of other European languages is an asset.Knowledge of EKON/SAP is preferred.Acquainted with MS Office, especially Excel.Requirements - Job Specific Behavioural CompetenciesFocus on (internal) customers.'Hands-on' mentality and team player.#J-18808-Ljbffr
