.Business Development Director - New Ventures Reporting to the EVP New Ventures, you will be responsible for uncovering new customer verticals globally, establishing new business opportunities to drive growth.
You will play a crucial role in expanding Thunes' market presence.
You will assess the viability of these customer verticals and, where this is a fit, be responsible for hunting, closing, and bringing these customers on board.
Working closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product, legal, and compliance, you will drive the successful launch of these new customer types that will come with the new set-up.
This is an opportunity to be in a role that is at the cross-section of Strategic Planning, Consulting, Selling, and yet remains on the front line in an execution-focused business development position that must drive quick revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities New Vertical analysis: Analyze new value chains, understand the interaction between stakeholders, evaluate direct and indirect competition, and position Thunes' offer in these new ecosystems.
Business Development / Hunting: Hands-on management of the end-to-end sales cycle from lead and meeting generation to the closing of these leads.
An extremely active business development focus is key to i) close clients and generate short-term revenue and ii) enable a quick analysis and understanding of these new verticals being addressed.
Feasibility assessment & Building: Interact with product, legal, tech, and compliance to quickly overcome potential blockers, limitations, and specific needs and features we might encounter amongst these new verticals.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to drive the quick launch of the signed new leads/customers: develop partnerships with tech third parties to enable quick launch of proof of concept, draft new contracts when needed, overcome compliance constraints, collaborate with product to determine functionalities to build, and orchestrate the delivery teams to facilitate quick launches.
Provide timely feedback to line manager about performance, sales activity, account management, and strategy as well as capturing and keeping our CRM up to date with pipeline activity.
Initiate and maintain a strong link between customers and back-office services to ease communication and facilitate the resolution of any issues.
Professional Experience/Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
8+ years of experience across business development ideally including 2 to 3 years of experience in strategy/consulting; ability to concurrentlythink strategically and be in a sharp new business/very active hunter position is key.
A strong sales experience in the payments industry is compulsory.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders internally and externally.
