Descripción del puesto The position is part of the Asset Lab area belonging to the Asset Optimization Industrial and E&P Tech Directorate; specifically, a vacancy is requested to cover the activity within the area of Formulation and Fluids.
This position is requested to be part of a multidisciplinary team, where techniques for formulating fuels (traditional and renewable) and lubricants and analytical characterization techniques of these and other petroleum-derived products, as well as renewable origin products, are encompassed, making use of the new available technologies of robotization, automation, and digitalization.
These activities are required to respond to the needs of research projects and the future needs of fuels and lubricants.
Funciones y responsabilidades Execute experimental tasks specific to the area, preparation of formulations, dilutions, analysis, characterization, and tests, applying established methodologies and assisting in the development of new techniques to support the company's research projects, processes, and products.
Plan work proactively and interactively within the team to achieve the planned work on time and in accordance with Safety, Environment, and Occupational Risk Prevention requirements at all times.
Perform calculations related to the activity, validation of results, and statistical data treatment.
Collaborate in the maintenance of the laboratory: reagents and chemicals, materials, conservation, commissioning, and calibration of equipment.
Collaborate in maintaining traceability of information: use of laboratory notebooks, recording information in area systems (Laboratory Management System, Equipment and Reagents Databases, Cost Management System, Blocklabs, or others).
Collaborate in programming experimental work and propose improvements in the processes executed.
Actively participate in the transformation of the area from the perspective of robotization and automation.
Requisitos necesarios Technical training at the FPII level in Laboratory, Chemistry, or equivalent.
Knowledge of characterization techniques for petroleum-derived and renewable origin products: density, viscosity, flash point, stability, oxidation, cold properties, etc.
Knowledge and experience in instrumental analysis: Mainly in GC-MS Chromatography, CG-FID Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, etc.
Knowledge in handling reagents and preparation of standards.
ASTM, EN; IP; UOP standards for petroleum and derivatives; Method validation.
Ability and experience in developing methods and equipment setup.
Previous experience in calibration, maintenance, and verification of the status of used equipment.
Know and ensure the quality assurance of work and main defined safety standards (personal, equipment, materials).
Notify any deviation and/or failure incident to the laboratory manager.
Preparation of technical reports of results.
English reading comprehension level, to be able to use those standards that are not available in Spanish.
Autonomy and knowledge in management systems, both in the SMA and SGL (Laboratory Management) areas or office and corporate tools like PowerBI, Share Point, etc.
