The successful candidate will join a new lab in a dynamic interdisciplinary research centre, which integrates independent senior scientists who work on various aspects of computational biology, ranging from bioinformatics for genomics and proteomics to systems biology modelling. The Researcher will work in a sophisticated scientific environment and will have access to highly-specialised systems and computational infrastructures.
Key Duties:
Apply technical expertise in the areas of parallel computing, distributed computing and software performance to an agent-based simulation tool.
Leverage computer-aided design tools (CAD) and GUIs to ease the setting-up of agent-based simulations.
Develop novel physically-sound agent-based functions to better simulate tissues and organs.
Apply best practices to software development, involving versioning the code, tracking changes and preparing adequate documentation to guide their use and installation.
Contribute to the implementation and deployment of unit tests to study the scalability and efficiency of the optimised solutions.
Contribute to the implementation of a CI/CD suite to test and deploy the code.
