As our Junior Procurement Buyer you are together with the Category Managers jointly accountable for product related (Energy, Raw Material, Packaging) activities for our plant in Montmeló. The Category Manager of Raw Materials and Packaging are in the lead commercially, but you will support them with the development and execution of category strategies, SAP masterdata, engaging with supplier base and internal cross-functional teams. You are jointly accountable for costs savings ideation, documentation and long-term/pipeline savings project generation and delivering against individual, department and company annual targets/KPI's. You will be involved in procurement initiative in the areas of Security of Supply, SRM, Sustainability and others. You will proactively update management on issues and opportunities within your scope of responsibility.
Responsibilities
Support in the development of sourcing strategies for the product related category whilst interacting with relevant Business Partners and stakeholders.
Support Category Managers in the negotiations and seeking the best Total Cost Ownership contracts and the most beneficial commercial agreements with suppliers.
Develop an in-depth understanding of the assigned categories' impact of price volatility on business performance.
Develop category knowledge and work cross functionally across responsible spend areas.
Support Category Managers with analytical support (e.g. Spend analysis, market analysis, supplier analysis etc.).
Follow the Purchasing procedures and assure that they are in line with ISO and the company requirements.
Support in initiatives on procurement strategies, SRM, Sustainability, audits etc.
You will support all SAP related activities, and also act as a back-up for the operational activities within the Non-product-related area (PO placement, Order confirmations, invoice checking etc.).
The Junior Buyer will be working closely with the Procurement Category Managers on this portfolio.
About you
Energetic, highly motivated to learn.
Bachelor or Master's degree in economics, business or engineering.
1-3 years' experience in procurement with a focus on chemicals (or willing to learn).
Preferred experience with ERP (SAP).
Strong analytical skills, Excellent Excel skills.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Outstanding drive for results and continuous improvements.
Ability to lead cross-functional projects.
Ability to understand/communicate and to support in the execution of procurement strategies.
Ability to successfully participate in multiple projects simultaneously.
