Remote People is seeking a dynamic Junior Nanotechnology Scientist-Engineer to join one of our international clients, an innovative team developing next-generation silicon anodes for lithium-ion batteries.
They are a Netherlands-based startup, founded two years ago, and have successfully created a 100% pure silicon anode prototype for ultra-high-capacity batteries.
Their goal is to revolutionise battery technology, enabling longer-lasting batteries for future applications in robotics, drones, and beyond.In this pivotal role, you'll contribute to groundbreaking nanotechnology solutions that aim to revolutionise battery technology, directly impacting the future of sustainable energy innovation.Contract LocationFull-time, Permanent Remote for the first four months, then relocation within Europe (location to be finalised).Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to the development and optimisation of silicon anode nanostructure.Support intellectual property (IP) development through innovative solutions.Collaborate on multiple projects in a multi-disciplinary team environment.Transition technologies from research to commercial applications.Prepare technical reports and document research outcomes.Your ProfilePhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Nanotechnology, or related fields OR Master's degree in the above fields with at least 1 year of relevant work experience.Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential.Highly motivated and adaptable to a fast-paced startup environment.Strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.Technical ExpertiseCleanroom Proficiency: Hands-on experience in cleanroom environments, adhering to strict protocols.Thin Film Deposition: Proficient in PECVD and CVD methods, with experience in amorphous silicon (a-Si) and silicon nitride.Material Characterisation: Skilled in using SEM, TEM, and other advanced tools for material analysis.Why You'll Like Working HereCompensation package: EUR 30,000 - 35,000 yearly (gross).Possibility of equity participation.Be at the forefront of nanotechnology innovation in battery development.Unique opportunity to shape the future of sustainable energy technologies.Fast-growing startup environment with significant career growth potential.
