.Job DescriptionThe Junior DevOps Engineer will work as a member of the DevOps team within our iGaming platform, ensuring the smooth, efficient, and secure operation of our development, deployment, and production environments. This position plays a critical role in our day-to-day maintenance and running of systems within our platforms. Goals are achieving efficient systems, which are well supported and highly available. The ideal candidate has some experience in cloud services and support of services. Experience in the fast-paced iGaming industry is highly preferred, with a focus on compliance, security, and high-traffic environments. The role will include on-call requirements, to be shared with other members of the team.ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Maintenance: - Assist with maintenance of our existing systems, ensuring the database is optimal and working efficiently, and helping to rebuild structures to improve our overall performance. - Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of resources. - Ensure the reliability of production environments through effective monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning. - Optimize the performance and scalability of systems to handle large volumes of gaming traffic and transactions.Continuous Integration & Delivery (CI/CD): - Develop CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, or similar. - Ensure continuous testing and deployment processes are streamlined, reducing manual interventions and enabling rapid releases. - Involve in production releases of our products, with a focus on time to market and assurance of quality. - Assist with adoption of containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, to support scalable microservices architectures.Security & Compliance: - Work closely with security teams to implement best practices in securing infrastructure, including firewalls, encryption, and access control. - Ensure compliance with iGaming regulations, including data protection (GDPR), licensing, and auditing requirements. - Work with automated security tools (e.G., vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection) to proactively identify and resolve potential threats.Second Line Support: - Work with front-line support team to assist in queries that are more complicated, and take care of systems configurations as required. - On-call responsibility out of hours on a rota to assist when we have a systems outage or other incident. - Conduct post-mortem reviews on incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.1+ years of experience in DevOps or SRE roles.Experience in iGaming or high-transaction, high-availability industries is highly preferred.Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
