We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist, ideally with a junior-mid level of expertise, who possesses strong Python programming skills and proficiency in Computer Vision. Our mission is to develop a groundbreaking smart packaging solution that leverages color-changing QR codes to fight food waste.
About the role As a valuable member of our data analysis and development team, you will hold a pivotal role in the evolution of our solution and collaborative projects with customers. Your primary tasks and responsibilities will encompass:
Extracting data from images and conducting thorough exploratory data analysis (EDA) to unveil key insights. Investigating and building predictive models using machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) techniques. Enhancing existing models and meticulously assessing their performance in comparison to industry benchmarks. Collaborating closely with the backend team to seamlessly integrate and deploy the developed models in the cloud environment (GCP, AWS, etc.). Ensuring the quality and accuracy of generated models through comprehensive validation and quality testing procedures. Effectively communicating complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders. Identifying and proactively addressing potential risks associated with data science projects. Staying abreast of the state of the art in machine learning and deep learning, and incorporating these innovations into the company's knowledge base. Assisting our Chemistry team in analyzing data from various experiments related to our colorimetric ink formulations. Requirements Degree: data science, computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, etc. Strong technical skills in Python and data science libraries (e.g., Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and matplotlib) as well as tools like Jupyter Notebooks, Git. Data analysis, statistics, and data visualization expertise. Theoretical knowledge of ML and DL. Plus Knowledge of other Python modules such as: OpenCV, PIL, Tensorflow, Xarray. Experience in developing and training Computer Vision models for object detection, pattern recognition, etc. Knowledge of GNU/Linux with its ecosystem: bash, docker, etc. Database knowledge, including SQL. Familiarity with cloud services and DevOps practices. Practical experience with real-world data science projects. Who are we looking for?
