When you join Appian,you'll be part of a passionate team that's dedicated to accomplishing hard things.Job Responsibilities:Review of contract language and compliance requirements in contractual documentation.Represent Appian on calls and communications with Appian's customers and prospects to explain Appian's security posture and to negotiate information security terms.Provide advice to engineers, product managers, and security specialists on Appian's platform, including compliance with applicable data security and privacy laws and regulations, security by design, and security frameworks and industry certifications.Collaborate with engineers and compliance professionals to develop and iterate on legal-security processes, including updates to security policies, plans, procedures, and organizational standards.Work cross functionally with Legal and technical teams to create disclosure of term agreements based on Appian's product terms and stance on privacy and data security.Develop and facilitate employee training based on new legal developments and industry specific regulations within PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS.Thinking independently to improve and update systems, processes, and existing documentation.To be successful in this role, you will need:Excellent English skills and the ability to read critically, write persuasively, and speak fluently.Effective writing and interpersonal skills.Self-starter, taking the initiative to handle complex challenges, prioritizing multiple ongoing projects, and developing quick turn-around contract management strategies.Excellent process-building and program management skills.Skilled with Google G Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and other software tools as required.Solid business judgment.Change positive.Qualifications:Qualified attorney with a minimum of two-three years' combined experience in law firm, government, and/or in-house legal department, preferably in the technology industry.Relevant certifications: CISSP, CIPP, CISA or equivalent experience.Data security or privacy experience.Experience collaborating with various levels of personnel.Tools and Resource:Training and Development: During onboarding, we focus on equipping new hires with the skills and knowledge for success through department-specific training.
