Partners with and influences E-Team leaders to set long-term strategic plans.ResponsibilitiesProvide in-depth technical expertise to identify and evaluate innovations in networking-related areas and assess their impact to the infrastructure of future at Equinix (spanning datacenter, hardware, networking, compute).Drive proof-of-concept initiatives on next-generation networking technologies, in close partnership with stakeholders, to deliver tangible outcomes that will help guide new technology investments and design decisions for Equinix's networking-related offerings.Provide senior thought leadership to deliver target network architecture blueprints and recommendations for the evolution of the networking technology stack at Equinix.Serve as a visible technology thought leader in the industry through various engagements, including within the open-source and developer communities (e.g., the Linux Foundation) and in interactions with customers, partners, media and analysts.QualificationsPreferably, a Ph.D. or Master's degree in computer science, or relevant engineering field.20+ years of experience, including 12+ years of relevant (cloud/software) networking architecture or engineering leadership experience.Demonstrable leadership, visionary accomplishments, and extensive experience in developing (cloud/software) networking technologies and architectures implemented in large-scale/mission-critical deployments.
Examples include solid background in cloud/software networking or physical network infrastructure architecture, engineering, DevOps, security, tooling, products, services, etc.Solid understanding of cloud-native computing as well as modern network architectures and technology stacks for distributed hybrid multi-cloud infrastructure.
