The role is responsible for the direct management of the Medical Affairs Clinical Trials Managers (MACTs) and the External Scientific Engagement Operations team. The Head of ESE will work closely with Clinical Operations & Medical Science at Global Level and liaise with Global Medical Affairs, Country Operations teams, Countries' Medical Directors and local medical teams. The incumbent will ensure bi-directional updates and alignment on the scientific engagement strategy at a portfolio level and for each study, to ensure successful medical preparation of launches and proper pipeline development and trials execution.Also, as the Head of the Scientific Engagement Operations Team (SEOT), the incumbent will help deliver a comprehensive external scientific engagement strategy for Alexion across our RD TAs, including Alexion's R&D engagements with Key External Experts (KEEs), medical societies' partnerships, research networks and PAOs. They will represent Alexion at key industrial consortia, managing new strategic scientific and patients' advocacy initiatives, ensuring the creation of a solid and sustainable international network with the most relevant Centers of excellence in our areas of interest.The SEOT will be responsible for the definition, creation, set up and implementation of the Strategic Consultancy Groups (SCGs) for the most critical portfolio programmes. The SEOT will help identify and develop the KEEs that will support our Clinical development programmes by providing scientific advice in the SCGs and who eventually will become the key experts in our medicines.You will be responsible for: Head of the MACT organizationProvide leadership to the Medical Affairs Clinical Managers Field Team (MACT) in all geographies.Work closely with the R&D teams, the country medical affairs teams and the global medical affairs TA teams to develop and roll out trial and R&D portfolio supporting activities.Guide clinical trials managers to identify potential sites and investigators, supporting clinical study feasibility, effective study implementation, recruitment and study management based on a trial/site-specific action plan.#J-18808-Ljbffr
