Key Responsibilities
The Senior Sustainable Finance Consultant (SFC) has 5+ years of professional experience, of which 2+ are working in debt capital markets or commercial banking to enable the use of funding instruments like Green Bonds/Loans, Social Bond/Loans and Sustainability Linked Bonds/Loans. The SFC understands ESG Strategy, has previously played a role in supporting Sustainable Finance transactions through evaluating the relationships to the borrowers' sustainable strategy, target setting, KPI use of funds, management of proceeds, reporting and review. The SFC understands the emerging standards and regulatory developments at play around the world such as the EU classification system (EU Taxonomy), EU Benchmarks, EU Sustainable Finance and ESG Disclosure, and the provision for ESG criteria for the integration of sustainability risks and factors within UCITS Directive, AIFMD and MiFID II. Also, the SFC will demonstrate an understanding of sustainable finance in Canada, such as through Government, Associations, SROs and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities also include:
• Implementing strategic projects relating to climate and sustainability issues.
• Implementing strategic sustainable finance analytics projects relating to climate and sustainability issues, enterprise ESG strategy design and development.
• Developing client accounts, from initiating sales opportunities to delivering the full spectrum of IBM's Sustainability Practice offerings to deliver business, environmental and social value to our clients.
• Leading the agile definition of the vision and ways of working for the Practice, and ensuring that the development of the Go-To-Market strategy is aligned with the vision.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• BA in business, finance, science, engineering, or related discipline; professional registration preferred.
• 5+ years' progressive experience in a consulting and/or banking environment, working at a high-level with clients; proven track record with Fortune 500 firms around Sustainable Finance.
• Experience with leading or delivering sustainable finance initiatives, coupled with value-creation programs based on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) themes.
• Experience with multi-disciplinary teams and partnering with cross-border service lines and business units.
• Experience with project management including budget analysis, status reporting, and issue management.
• Well-versed in Sustainability including strategy, disclosure and climate services. Offers recognized technical expertise and an established reputation in the local marketplace.

• Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.
