The IT Platform Management Mainframe of the Deutsche Bundesbank provides the infrastructure and middleware components (e.g. database systems such as Db2 and IMS) for the mainframe. Highly available and business-critical payment transaction applications and securities settlement systems in the national and international environment (such as T2 and T2S) are supported. As part of this activity, you will work closely with the central banks in Italy, France and Spain.
Work of Particular Value: Your Assignment with Us You will work in IT platform management of the mainframe environment and provide a modern Db2 database infrastructure.
You are responsible for the stability and further development of the Db2 subsystems.
In addition, you will advise and support application development on data modeling and performance issues.
You realize the implementation of data model changes and are in contact with the manufacturers of the software products used worldwide.
You will also provide last-level support for operations in a high-availability environment.
You will actively contribute your expertise to European projects (e.g. on T2 and T2S).
Your Qualifications Bachelor's or equivalent degree in (business) informatics, industrial engineering or a comparable course of study with an IT focus or comparable knowledge from many years of professional experience.
Good knowledge of the functionality of relational database systems (preferably Db2), DDL and SQL and ideally several years of relevant experience in this area.
Knowledge of database utilities and their application as well as experience in the syntax of Db2 commands.
Basic knowledge of mainframe architecture (ideally knowledge of ISPF and JCL).
Willingness and health suitability to work under special time requirements (assumption of regular and remunerated on-call duty and, if necessary, weekend duties).
Strong teamwork and conflict management skills, ability to work under pressure, high degree of independence as well as analytical and conceptual skills.
Very good German and good written and spoken English skills.
We expect you to be willing to undergo a security check in accordance with the German Federal Security Check Act (SÜG).
Remuneration & Prospects Remuneration based on the TVöD (depending on your experience, approx. €57,000 to €81,000), bonuses for special achievements, future-oriented job in the public sector with reliable working conditions, permanent employment contract, varied tasks, possibility of becoming a civil servant, possibility of continuing an existing civil servant relationship (up to A 11).
