Why this job is for you: As the Tax Specialist for Spain, you will ensure smooth daily tax operations and compliance in Spain. You will work with regional business teams, the Polish Shared Services Center, the EMEA tax department, and external parties like tax auditors and consulting firms. The role also involves streamlining processes in line with the Global Operations model.
The job you will perform: Perform tax accounting and tax compliance activities (including transfer pricing) for Spain, leveraging local and central resources as well as external tax consultants as needed. Interact with Business Finance and the RTA Team on tax-related matters including timely and relevant quarterly feeds for reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit purposes. Prepare direct corporate tax declarations and other tax declarations, excluding indirect taxes and employee-related tax declarations. Coordinate all relevant inputs and arrange tax payments and cash tax flow forecasts. Ensure tax documentation meets local regulations and company policies. Deliver on the tax matters of the Spanish group for the purpose of the Effective Tax Rate (ETR). Report relevant tax matters in the tax QR16 and address exceptions promptly. Stay informed about legislation changes, assess their impact on processes and daily finance routines, and keep the relevant parties informed. Coordinate the tax audits, questions, and investigations. Support the Team with operational duties regarding subsidies, identify and act on opportunities for tax incentives in coordination with the Business. Participate in legal restructuring projects from a tax perspective. Handle ad-hoc requests on tax matters from the EMEA / US Tax Departments and Business Finance. Advocate for and participate in process optimizations for the region and/or EMEA leveraging the Country Central Finance and the Central Organization as required. The skills you will bring: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Accounting or Finance. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position. Good knowledge of SAP with the ability to quickly learn other software and computer applications. Proficiency with Spanish tax legislation and tax compliance requirements.
