The Position Your department
We are 100+ biostatisticians and data scientists with the ambition to promote the development of diagnostic assays and their use in clinical practice. We are located at Roche Diagnostics sites in Penzberg, Mannheim, Indianapolis and Sant Cugat de Vallès.
Our mission is to provide appropriate quantitative methods for all aspects and life cycles from early research to market registration. By combining our statistical knowledge with a profound understanding of the question at hand, we extract actionable information from data and present these customer-tailored.
Your Team
The team is highly interested in creating innovative solutions for new and traditional challenges in the analysis of data. We are strongly involved in early biomarker discovery projects. We aim to identify new biomarkers and create clinical algorithms to solve unmet medical needs.
To reach our goals we work with data from clinical trials as well as real world data. In all projects, we are in close collaboration with our colleagues from clinical science, clinical operation, business, and assay development.
Your main objectives and tasks Exploratory data analysis of clinical data and development of clinical algorithms by applying state of the art statistical- and machine learning methods.Statistical analysis of clinical studies, creation of analysis reports as well as presentation of the results.Data analysis of biomarker discovery experiments by multivariate and machine learning methods.Supporting peer-reviewed publications demonstrating the clinical utility of your results.Proactive support of cross-functional project teams. Who you are You hold a university degree (master) in (bio-)statistics, data science, mathematics, (bio)-informatics or a comparable degree; Ph.D. is a plus.You have expertise in applying biostatistical and machine learning methods on clinical data, ideally in the context of biomarker evaluation or comparable research tasks.You have excellent knowledge of R or a comparable programming language.You have excellent communication and analytical skills and are eager to expand your knowledge continuously and apply new quantitative methodology.You are fluent in English, both speaking and writing.
