The Team: Our team is responsible for building the new AI tools that will boost Celonis' Process Intelligence and Process Mining solution.
Process Mining is the technology that allows businesses to capture user interaction (data), so they can analyze how people get work done, and how they can do it even better, but just imagine the possibilities if we add the use of AI.
We own all the related components, e.g.
the desktop client, the related backend services, the data processing capabilities, and Studio frontend applications.
The Role: Celonis is looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to build new features and increase the reliability of our solution.
You will focus on the Java backend while also doing some work in Python.
Expertise in Java, Spring (Boot) is required.
We work with a Microservices architecture under the OpenAPI specification.
With a "you build it, you run it" culture, knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker (JSON and YAML configurations) will be useful, as well as knowledge about observability under DataDog or alternatives.
The work you'll do: Take independent responsibility for large pieces of work throughout the stages of development.
Develop maintainable and reliable software applications based on a work description that you will help define.
Document procedures, and concepts, and share knowledge within the team.
Able to complete most daily tasks with little guidance.
Handle requests from customer support finding the right technical solution.
The qualifications you need: 7+ years of professional experience building Java applications.
Passion for clean and understandable code.
Good knowledge of Spring Boot, and Angular is desirable.
Experience with Open API will be a plus.
Familiar with containerization technologies (i.e.
Docker) and experience in monitoring/observability is a plus.
Experience in REST APIs and/or distributed microservice architecture.
Experience in writing and setting up tests (unit and integration tests).
Knowledge of Python will be very useful for the position.
Experiences with performance optimization, multithreading, and concurrency will be a plus.
Strong communication skills (English is a must).
