What will you do? The International Regional Director of Operations is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the operations of all the Hotels (assets) in the assigned geographical area. The regional director of operations is responsible for ensuring and improving performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability through effective methods and strategies.
Leads, directs, and manages daily hotel operations (via hotel director), including hotel yearly budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, managing performance reviews, and implementing company policies and standards.
Coordinates capital improvements and property improvement plans, responds to guest inquiries and resolves concerns, initiates and facilitates meeting participation, and proposes improvements.
Oversees service quality levels, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, SOPs, and service compliance, including financial measurements and auditing.
Identifies operational performance, productivity, and efficiency gaps and implements measures to correct deficiencies.
Partners closely with the COO and works according to departmental guidelines and priorities.
Implements and manages the hotel's daily quality process, including communicating goals, empowering team members, managing service recovery techniques, and measuring satisfaction.
Monitors and develops team member performance, particularly hotel managers and departmental managers, including providing supervision, professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations, and delivering recognition and rewards.
Controls operating expenses of hotel accounts and proposes corrective initiatives.
Monitors P&L and STR reports.
Management Systems: Updates policies and procedures for the hotels in the assigned geographical area in line with company strategy.
Unifies management systems criteria for all hotels in the assigned geographical area.
Conducts audits of hotels in the assigned geographical area and sets up improvement plans with the hotel director.
Responsible for the overall forecast of purchasing needs.
Identifies and develops talents and works closely with the HR department.
Quality of Service Management: Analyzes results and develops improvement action plans.
Establishes areas of improvement.
Implements strategies to improve scores and effectively coordinates with the COO.
Communication and Asset Visits: Communicates effectively with hotel directors, Central Office, and COO.
Visits hotels and manages teams effectively, promoting a positive work environment with an open-door policy, encouraging people development through setting goals and evaluations for career growth.
Performs 1-1 meetings mainly with direct reports to support, help, and correct where needed.
(Pre)opening New Hotels: Revises new project business plans.
Coordinates the preopening operations of new hotels in the assigned geographical area from the moment of signature.
Prepares operational and payroll budgets for new hotels.
Responsible for implementing brand SOPs and delivering on established goals with the CQO.
Selects new hotel directors and key positions with HR.
Promotes and facilitates the success of new hotel teams.
Supports the Business Development department in finding new hotel projects.
Ensures the success of Hotel Directors and drives results.
What do we look for? Hospitality Management or equivalent work experience.
10 years of experience with international hotel chains.
5 years of multi-property management experience.
Knowledge of PMS and POS.
Fluent in Spanish and English; additional languages are a plus.
Driving license B.
Flexibility to travel.
