The Sr.
Specialist, eLearning Courseware Developer will be responsible for developing eLearning content for courses, stand-alone modules, simulations, micro-learning objects, HTML landing pages, complex interactions including gamification and assessments.
They will have experience working with Learning Experience Designers/Instructional Designers, translating storyboards to courseware and working within an iterative/agile process.
They will have advanced technical skills with eLearning development applications such as Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate.
They will be collaborative, organized and adaptive to learning new development tools and technologies.
They will manage a team of eLearning Developers.
They will successfully work under minimal guidance with demonstrated problem-solving skills.
They will be a self-starter and will comfortably communicate and discuss design ideas.
They will collaborate across time zones with remote teammates.

Major Duties & Responsibilities eLearning Development:
Skilled in using current eLearning development tools such as Storyline and Captivate; and must also be open to investigating and learning to use new tools.
Work with Learning Experience Designers and Visual and Information Designers to understand learner needs and partner to ideate on creating a great learner experience. Clarify eLearning courseware goals of customers.
Recommend alternative course development approaches within the learning project when appropriate (such as learner interactions or "check your knowledge" approaches) in support of learning objectives.
Ensure goals are met with the final eLearning courseware product. Adhere to defined quality assurance guidelines and processes.
Assist with the testing and review of learning content prior to launching via the SUMMIT LMS.
Upload accurate documents and/or source files to the internal content library as per established guidelines.
Application of accessibility features to learning products.
Coaching: Supervise a team of eLearning Developers.
Attend project meetings as needed.
Manage team's workloads to ensure output is high quality and on-time.
Clarify and communicate priorities.
Do administrative tasks such as Purchase Order creation, Invoice management, Timesheet approvals.
Manage relationship with agency vendors, and ensure staffing is appropriate based on organizational design and project needs.
Collaborate with peers and management to leverage and repurpose existing content, courses, websites and systems to meet targeted needs.
Mentor and provide feedback for outputs of other eLearning Developers.
Onboard new eLearning Developers and orient them with J&J policies, and team processes.
Leading: Build a strong partnership with the rest of the learning organization to ensure strategies and goals are met for our learning solution.
Track and report project status and provide requested and required data to ensure SLAs are met.
Identify need for additional tools and software and provide recommendations to Manager.
Participate in training communities of practice.
Gather and share external/internal training benchmark information, lessons learned and best practices.
Adhere to company practices, policies and Credo-based culture, and set an example for other team members.
Use established company tools/methodology as needed or required.
Support global culture of continuous improvement, identify areas for improvement on daily operational processes to drive data accuracy and global compliance.
Communicate and interact effectively and develop credibility and trusted mutually respected relationships with customers, stakeholders, leadership and team members.
Support special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Responsible for reviewing and approving eLearning assets created by the TD&T team.
Translate collaborative design thinking ideas quickly and clearly into mockups and prototypes of learning products.
Fluent in using current tools and methods, but also be open to investigate and learn to use new ones.
Apply project management principles to deliver training development support to customers.
Qualifications Experience A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree related to Instructional Systems Technology and/or Graphic Design, and/or Education or equivalent is required.
Experience and Skills Required:
A minimum of 5 years eLearning development and technical experience using tools such as Lectora, Storyline 360, Captivate and/or other related software is required.
A minimum of 3 years Instructional Design, Education, Professional Training, Organizational Development, eLearning Courseware Development or equivalent is required.
Understanding of graphic design, layout principles and UI/UX experience is preferred.
Experience in people leadership is required.
Preferred:
Understanding of adult learning theories is preferred.
Ability to use programming language that can be incorporated into SCORM assets (JS, HTML, CSS, etc.) is preferred.
Experience working in an agile project workstream is preferred.
Experience working as an LMS admin in some form is preferred.
Other:
Experience with SCORM, xAPI, and technical specifications for Learning Management Systems (LMSs) is required.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve programming issues is required.
Proven ability to produce deliverables that incorporate interactive design principles is required.
Ability to interpret standard storyboard designs and convert them into eLearning developed course is required.

Ability to work effectively (e.g., provide timely and quality deliverables) in a fast-paced, self-directed team-based environment is required.
