The Institute
The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The roleWe are looking for a candidate for the implementation and testing of catalytic activities. The candidate should set up and run enzyme assays for several enzyme variant designs. These enzymes are designs produced by the AI models we train in the lab. The candidate should have experience in expressing, purifying and measuring the activity of enzymatic families.
About the labThe candidate will join an interdisciplinary research group at the forefront of AI-driven protein design and engineering. The team is highly collaborative, integrating computational scientists, experimental biologists, and biotechnologists to push the boundaries of synthetic biology and protein engineering.
Whom would we like to hire?Professional experienceMust HaveExperience in protein expression and purification1-2 years of wet lab experience (e.g. through internships and MSc thesis)Motivation and willingness to learn in a highly paced research fieldDesirable but not required/ Nice to haveThe willingness to hear and learn about AI modelsExperience in enzymatic assaysExperience working in high-throughput regimesEducation and trainingA master's degree in Biochemistry, Biocatalysis, Bioengineering or related field.
