.TITLE: IT Server Infrastructure Engineer DEPARTMENT: IT REPORTING TO: Chief Information Security Officer LOCATION: Madrid, Spain JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent POSITION SUMMARY The IPC IT Server Team operates worldwide, managing IPC's internal business systems on both Windows and Linux platforms within a virtualized setting. Additionally, the team supports a growing cloud infrastructure that remains hybrid and adapts constantly based on business needs. This role is 100% hands-on technical process enhancement, vendor relationship coordination, and meeting project deadlines. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the administration and maintenance of physical and virtual server environments (Windows, Linux, etc.), ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. Lead the design, deployment, and management of server infrastructure solutions, including hardware, software, and storage systems. Implement and oversee monitoring tools to ensure the health, availability, and performance of server environments. Develop, implement, and maintain disaster recovery and backup procedures to ensure data integrity and availability. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure that all server environments are secure and comply with security policies and standards (firewalls, patch management, access control, etc.). Evaluate current server capacity and anticipate future needs to support company growth, making recommendations for upgrades and scalability. Manage relationships with hardware, software, and service vendors to negotiate contracts, service level agreements, and ensure timely support. Oversee the troubleshooting of server-related issues, coordinating with other departments to ensure timely resolution. Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures. Manage the budget for the server infrastructure, ensuring cost-effective procurement of hardware and services. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices, including data protection laws and IT governance frameworks. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT You will spearhead the implementation and management of the enterprise Windows & Linux server infrastructure, encompassing both on-premises and cloud environments. You will promote security best practices, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure adherence to project timelines. Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management. Strong experience with server technologies, including Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, etc. Proficiency in cloud infrastructure technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud environments. In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, storage solutions (SAN/NAS), and virtualization. Experience in managing disaster recovery, backup solutions, and high-availability systems.
