IT MANAGER
BARCELONA We are collaborating with a biotech company that is looking for an experienced Senior IT Manager to act as a key player in the IT team, with expertise in both hardware and software, capable of managing, designing, and implementing solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their on-premises servers, virtualization infrastructure, cloud services and databases. This position involves developing and maintaining web applications, managing company data, handling patient data de-identification, while also providing day-to-day support to end-users across multiple platforms. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of the company by ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the IT. Roles and responsibilities: Oversee the entire IT, including on-premises and cloud servers, services, laptops, and workstations, to maintain smooth operation and robust security. Manage and maintain systems to support the computing needs of their bioinformatics team, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Design and implement web applications to meet the company's evolving needs. Develop automatizations and ETLs. Manage and maintain patient data applications and databases. Assist with sample selection for sequencing and manage the reception and organization of data. Provide day-to-day IT support to end-users, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. Support the cohort team with all IT-related tasks, including designing new cohort variables and apps as well as coding schemes for patients. Upgrade the existing infrastructure by migrating legacy services and user accounts as needed. Create secure environments and metadata for transferring clinical and data to third parties. Open to learn new technologies and tools to support the evolving needs of the organization. Experience and requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Proven experience in IT Management, with a strong understanding of on-premises and cloud-based environments. Proficiency in Linux administration, including command-line operations and shell scripting. Experience with network administration and security principles. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently. Familiarity with the following programming languages (R, Python, HTML, PHP, JS, Bash, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and frameworks (Django, R Shiny). Experience with AWS, S3, EC2, VPN, Nginx, GPO, GitHub, AD, Synology, Proxmox, TrueNAS, Slurm, Apptainer, XDR. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills Excellent organizational skills Problem-solving skills and excellent judgment Ability to work under deadlines Fluency in spoken and written English.
