Mission The IT Business Partner will serve as the strategic interface with Commercial and Affiliates, Marketing and Medical, and a "trusted advisor" to senior business executives, the main focus being to:
Ensure IT provides the highest business value to the BU. Establish and maintain value-driven, strategic relationships with BUs. Proactively manage business demand and promote digital innovation. IT Business Partners are the face of IT, delivering one vision for IT across all Business Units.
Tasks and Responsibilities Works with business senior executives to align technology solutions with business strategies and contributes to the business unit strategic planning process. Understands the technology applicable to the assigned BUs. The IT BP is at the forefront and talks knowledgeably of industry and technology trends. Advises and clarifies expectations to business executives on the risks and value/benefits of using technology to build competitive advantage and improve business performance Leads the demand side of IT governance on behalf of the business and communicates high-level business requirements to Service Delivery groups. Aligns business demand to IT supply. Accountable for the strategically aligned IT portfolio planning for the assigned BUs. Negotiate and mediate between business and IT Service Delivery teams to find pragmatic solutions. Anticipates business needs and identifies and proposes collaboratively IT products and services to fulfill those needs (This includes the IT opportunity pipeline management and qualification, as well as the internal value modeling and proposing process.) Promotes an understanding of IT roles, processes and activities to the business, as well as acts as a chief marketer and communicator of IT services and capabilities Facilitates and potentially drives the planning and execution of business changes through the use of technology Works with business and IT executives to identify opportunities for increased operational and business efficiencies. Defines business and IT performance metrics, and measures, tracks and reports on benefits realization and customer satisfaction levels Attends Program/Product/IT Service Steering Committees, and identifies, manages and resolves issues, either proactively or reported by BUs, as needed May assist in the development of service-level agreements (SLAs) or selection of vendors in accordance with IT standards Collaborate effectively with the other IT Business Partners, to solve common challenges and provide a seamless communication, services and experience to the BUs. Works together with the Business Management in order to align digital or D&A demand initiatives. Full responsibility to manage the overall IT budget for the assigned BUs to provide the services outlined above, including project investments, and operational expenses. As a member of the IT Leadership Team, active contribution to general strategical and tactical topics of the IT Department. Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, telecomms, engineering or closely related discipline.
Specific Knowledge Working knowledge of the industry, major business processes and key performance indicators within Pharma Commercial. Demonstrated breadth and in-depth knowledge of Life Sciences Commercial, Medical and Marketing. Solid understanding of current and planned IT architecture, platforms and solutions that support the business Broad understanding of the current and emerging Digital and technology trends, developments, ways of working, innovation models and related topics. Strong working knowledge of governance policies and practices Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as an ability to communicate effectively with various levels of staff Superior customer relationship management skills, ability to influence and be trustful Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role. Solid planning, financial and performance management skills Capacity to think strategically. Experience Typically has 10 to 15 years of IT and business work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments and business segments within Life Sciences, Health Care or related industries Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex, cross-functional and dynamic environments.
