The Project Engineer will support the Engineering team within Enfinity Global's development business in Europe and report to the Sr. Engineering Manager. In this role, you will be involved in PV and BESS projects from preliminary design to EPC contracting to commissioning and construction. This position could be based either in Madrid, Milan or Rome.Key Responsibilities:Pre-construction:Design, review, and value engineer preliminary Solar PV and BESS designs including array layouts, DC string sizing, equipment layouts, utility interconnections, etc. for ground mount systems.Build and optimize energy production models using PVsyst or equivalent modeling solutions.Review and provide feedback on design and construction drawing packages from external partners (e.g., EPCs and external design firms).Manage and develop workstreams for zoning, surveys, geotechnical, pull-out tests, and other site-specific studies with internal and external stakeholders.Assess and mitigate project risks in advance of detailed engineering efforts.Support the EPC tender process and negotiation of EPC contracts.Research and document regional specific requirements (permits, codes, environmental constraints, etc.) and ensure designs comply with said requirements.Collaborate with the Construction team to gather and apply lessons learned regarding design optimization, constructability, and bid-level designs.Support the RFQ process for project specific equipment.Develop, improve, and enforce Enfinity Design Standards.Work with the local and regional team to document, refine, and improve internal processes.Develop and maintain outside engineering relationships with external companies used for engineering services (e.g., Site Discovery, 3rd Party QA/QC, consulting, etc.).Construction:Support the Construction team in schedule reviews, design reviews, design optimization, site visits, etc.Manage third party engineering provider/Owner's Engineer or EPC and supervise the work from such resources.Review construction quality through internal Construction Control Process.Construction site visits at key milestones to report on and enforce Enfinity quality standards.Support the construction handover and commissioning process.Qualifications:Degree in Electrical Power, Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering. Electrical preferred.3-6 years experience in the energy sector with experience with plants greater than 10MW.English (C1), both verbal and written, able to write high quality technical reports. Italian is a plus.Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, MS Office Suite, and MS Project (or similar CPM scheduling software).Desirable: Strong knowledge of HV and MV electrical substations and electromechanical background, knowledge of civil scope (e.g., grading, drainage, hydrology, road construction, trenching, etc.), Italian Grid Code and the technical requirements needed to connect large scale renewable plants to the National Grid.Proficiency in Civil3D, PVcase and/or Python is a plus.In Enfinity Global group you will find a very dynamic and multinational environment in one of the most exciting and impactful industries.
