Job Description As an International Certification Manager for Forest Management (FM) at SGS, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and quality of our forest management accreditations. This part-time position (50%) offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to global sustainability efforts and manage crucial accreditation processes.
Key Responsibilities: Accreditation Oversight: Administer and manage SGS's Forest Management (FM) accreditations, including those held by SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA (Switzerland). Oversee delegated responsibilities for additional accreditations. Audit Coordination: Support the Accreditation Manager in coordinating accreditation body audits. Ensure timely resolution of findings and manage audit-related activities with precision. Complaints and Appeals: Assist in managing complaints and appeals according to SGS policies, ensuring fair and timely resolution. Certification Competence: Ensure certification competences are maintained. Support the approval of auditors and other certification functions, and conduct technical reviews of FM reports. Quality Management: Monitor and assess the performance of SGS affiliates. Perform internal technical audits in line with the global audit plan. Training and Development: Conduct training courses for FSC auditors and provide technical support to SGS affiliates as needed. Specific Authorities: Address and report any safety hazards or issues affecting service quality immediately. Initiate improvement requests for system deviations or identified nonconformities. Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Forest Management, Environmental Resource Management, or equivalent professional experience. Forest Management Lead Auditor Trainer certification. Experience: Proven experience as an FSC, FM and CoC Lead Auditor. Extensive background in audit and commercial activities related to forest products. Experience working in an accredited environment, particularly within the timber or paper industries. Skills: Strong leadership with the ability to drive change and foster team collaboration. Analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a customer and commercial focus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including high-level presentation and interaction with senior officials and management. Computer literacy and proficiency in English are mandatory; other languages are advantageous. Additional Information Why SGS?
