Mission of an Internal Auditor ELAWAN: As an Internal Auditor at Elawan Energy, you will conduct independent worldwide internal audits (both financial and operational) across the Group to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, processes, and procedures throughout the organization. Your role will contribute to ensuring integrity and operational efficiency, as well as identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Internal Audit department reports directly to the Board of Directors of Elawan Energy and stakeholders (ORIX Europe/ORIX Corporation) on internal audit activities. Based in the HQs in Madrid. Main accountabilities Performing walkthroughs, risk assessment, testing and documenting key controls to ensure compliance with SOX404. Planning, organizing, and executing operational audits included in the audit plan, in accordance with internal methodology and IIA standards, and in coordination with Internal Audit Manager. Assess risk and internal control environment to identify areas for improvement and define recommendations. Draft clear and concise audit reports, including mitigation plans for identified weaknesses. Monitoring the implementation of previous recommendations and mitigation plans and assessing the improvement in internal controls. Participate in meetings with auditees to report and negotiate conclusions from audit work performed. Directly reporting to Elawan Internal Audit Manager and participating in the reporting to ORIX Europe/ORIX Corporation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to comprehend the processes and procedures in various areas of the company. Requirements and personal skills: Education: Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or related fields. Languages: Spanish and English Proficiency (weekly meetings with shareholders in Japan all documentation is prepared in English, thus the person must feel completely comfortable working in this language). Experience (years/area): From 3-5 years of proven experience in internal audit, similar internal control related functions, . Working experience in Renewables is valued, but not mandatory Travels: Willingness to travel. Aditional knowledge: Specific knowledge of ICFR or SOX audit requirements; An understanding of basic IT controls and risk management principles; Advanced in MS Office and MS Excel; Basic knowledge of SAP desirable; Relevant audit qualification (hence CPA, CISA, CIA) is a plus. Personal skills: Detail-oriented person with strong analytical skills and an ability to assess risks in financial and operational processes. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (verbal and written), including reporting abilities. Hands-on, pro-active mentality and able to effectively co-operate with all levels and disciplines (i.e., Finance, Compliance) of the organization. Organizsed and disciplined working approach to meeting tight deadlines while producing good quality work. An international mindset and willing to travel occasionally to group companies.
